Tonka is the foundation sire of Harvestime Kennel. Even through four generations, his signature is still very apparent in our pups. Tonka was my dream dog; good looks, brains, incredible field drive, structure. You name it, Tonka had it!
I purchased Tonka from Murrayfarm Kennel in Pennsylvania. He was pick puppy from an outstanding litter. He is a light golden with a plush, straight coat, excellent pigment, good bite, impressive blocky head, large bone structure and beautiful movement.
Tonka was an easy dog for a novice handler to get titles on. He taught me a lot! He was so eager to please and many judges commented on the wonderful combination of beauty and ability! I easily got his Companion Dog title in the AKC and State level, taking top ribbons in each event. He completed his Rally Novice and Advanced titles even though the jumps were not his favorite thing! Tonka was shown in the conformation ring and earned two Best of Breed placements and is Champion pointed. He also has his Conformation Certificate Assessment and passed with high scores.
He also had strong ability in the field and water. At club events when other dogs wouldn’t retrieve a duck that was far out in the lake, Tonka was happy to do the honors.
Tonka has had excellent health and is still doing well! He makes his retirement home with the Seim family in Madison. Tonka is now a Certified Pet Therapy Dog and does regular visits to St Mary’s Hospital. He also dabbles in agility and is very active in the Seim home.
